Oscar hungover and grouchy--BANNED

Brought to you by KStew411

"It’s crusty today and I’m trying to keep a lid on it. The Oscars always bring out my crusty bitch. The show is too long, too smug, too self-congratulatory. Forty-five minutes in and I was doing SHOUTY CAPITALS all over twitter. The broadcast drives me nuts. It’s too much. Just…please cut some of that stuff out and make it shorter. Be like the BAFTAs, sleek and fast and elegant. But no. It’s the Oscars. It’s the ceremony that never ends. Add to that the ridiculous haggishness that followed Kristen Stewart’s throat clearing and I was snapping pencils with my teeth. Here’s the thing about KStew. Like her or dislike her, you know who she is. The awkwardness, the occasional shyness, the bitchface, the lip biting, the eye rolling, the finger twiddling, the incomplete sentences and those moments when she delivers a completed thought and you think, “Yeah, I could be friends with her”—it’s all 100% pure unadulterated KStew. You know her. You may not like her, you may think she could act better, but you know her.

Taylor Lautner, I do not know.

This has been the topic of conversation around me today, and not just in my fake job. It’s at my real job, too. I’ve heard this all day long, and I heard it all night last night, as well.

Plastic.

Manufactured.

Robotic.

Programmed.

Is he even a real boy?

The answer is no. Taylor Lautner is a machine. He is a money-maker. He is eighteen years old and he is responsible for his family. Love the Stew’fam or not, the Stew’rents never made Kristen their bread winner. They kept working even as Kristen’s salary crept closer and closer to, then finally topping, one million dollars a film. But Lautner, like so many before him, is a product. A product his parents are selling.

And this is nothing against Taylor Lautner—I like him. He is affable, and charming, and seems genuinely nice. But I fear for him. I fear because of the whispers of “Kit Culkin,” that follow in his father’s wake, for the accusations of “sealed off,” and “too protected” that surround him. Always Taylor is with adults. Where are his friends? It’s a common question. At least he seems to be genuinely friendly with Kristen. They joke around together, and when making public appearances you can often see Taylor helping smooth Kristen’s rougher edges. Finishing her thoughts when she trails off, exerting a calming influence on her fidgeting, escorting her down stairs in her long dresses, there’s a real gentlemanly quality to him despite his young age. Good manners can’t be faked, and Taylor Lautner has good manners. To Taylor’s and his family’s credit he also does not have the obvious sense of entitlement as that is so distasteful in Miley Cyrus. He recognizes that he must work, and work hard, to achieve. He is dedicated to working. Too dedicated?

Because even if you don’t like her, you know Kristen cuts loose. We’ve all seen it. There’s no need to detail it. You know to what I am referring. You might not like it—in fact, you shouldn’t. I don’t. It’s one of the few things I would change about her—not the doing, just the method. But at least she does. She goes out with her friends, with her brothers, and she relaxes. She chills. She acts her age. She runs the risk of public disapprobation in favor of having a little fun. You might not like it, but at least it’s real. It’s a sign that there’s more to her than the job. There’s a life there. A real one, one that doesn’t involve constant negotiations and image counseling and a dozen handlers just to go to the gym.

And she brings this sense of reality to her public appearances. I do think she’s getting better. Twilight press seemed pretty rough, so she comes to New Moon more willing to talk, to joke, to tell anecdotes. Criticized for slumping at the BAFTAs, you could see her making a conscious effort to keep her back straight at the Oscars. There’s a willingness to improve the public persona as much as there is an unwillingness to sacrifice her real self so we’ll all like her better. She will continue to improve, but she will never be the plastic idea of perfection that Taylor has already nailed down. She will just be herself. Love her or hate her, Kristen Stewart will always be real. And you will know her."

Big ups to #411 for laying it out there! What are your thoughts my friends?

[Oh lawdy what did we have here? A surprise for you loyalists indeed! It’s like Sharing Saturday on a Tuesday. I started reading EP last night (by KhariZZmatiK) at 1am. My whole day has been fucked because of it. I can’t function right now because all I want to do is FREE BELLA and GET THAT FUCKING CHIP OUT, but this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Several of you asked. Ask and you shall receive.

KStew411 has been graciously bringing you all things KStew [and some other fun tidbits] for a while now. We all know #411 can bring the snark and perhaps this time it was a bit much for mainstream media. Thankfully we here at kstewisbetterthanu have NO rules and NO filters so we’re embracing #411 with open arms. So here's to you #411! Thanks for sharing!]

  5. I couldn't agree more! I know many people dislike Taylor, I think he's a nice kid. He's young and learning. The most important thing is that Kstew is comfortable around him. I really hope he doesn't end up being too exploided by his family.
    Thanks for posting Kstew411's piece!!!

  6. Loves it. Loves your blog and KStew411! All so true. I like a real girl more than the plastic barbies all over hwood.

  7. as always there are people out there that take the words right out of my mind and turn them into great pieces!

I wholeheartedly agree with this post!

  8. Great post! I am not a TL fan but I definitely sympathize with him, there's way too much pressure on his shoulders, I wish him the best.

  9. Everything 411 said about KStew is so true. People are so used to seeing fake H'wood actors with their fake smiles and fake personalities, that as soon as they see something fresh and different, they think it's weird. Get over it haters, especially girls who put her down for stupid bullshit. You guys hate on her for the same reasons you love Rob. What does that say about you? I'm ashamed for those people. Life is short; get you heads out of your asses before it's too over.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The shit with the haters is, that they will pick her apart no matter what. She can look absolutely perfect like she did at the Oscars, and they'll still say something was missing, or something was not it with her. She's her own person and that's why I love her for it. She's a breath of fresh air, and I want to hear the haters when she wins an Oscar one day. hopefully soon.

  11. I absolutely love this blog and love KStew411! I totally agree with this. Taylor seems great- but who is Taylor really? Kristen is great- but I feel like I can say that with honesty because I feel as if I know her. Who is she? She is me, she is you, she is any of us when we were 19 years old. She is 19 years old and still maturing- and God love her for it... cause I know I do!

  12. Nothing to add but agree great post 411 and thanks CC for sharing this with us.

  14. Trust me the girls like Taylors abs not Taylor. Noone went crazy for him in Twiligh, only in New Moon when he came back with the 20 back. He's a good kid, but too robotic. The media training is getting to him. He even looks less happy then he used to. That sparkle in his eye is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I definitely agree 100%. She is for real and that's why I love that girl!

  16. Also thanx to the girl that runs this blog. You're badass too. More people should speak their mind.

  17. Sad that #411 couldn't post this, but I am so happy you offered to post it here, another one of my favorite blogs! And #411 speaks the truth about Kristen and about Taylor, whom if I may add, i have nothing against. Kristen did so well at the Oscars I was glowing with pride, even when she was nervous presenting, because that was such a huge step for her. I ignore the jealous bitches who cannot give KStew a chance. I a sick and tired of the hateful immature ones who feel they can pass judgment on this 19 year old girl, who as #411 says, is who she is, no excuses about it.

  18. @Purple83 I agree!!!
It is weird how you guys speak my mind. Thanks for this post.

  19. Thank you for keepin' it real, couldn't have said it better!

With Kristen what you see is what you damn well get and I LOVE her for that. She refuses to be anyone but herself which is admirable and NO easy feat for seasoned actors in this industry, let alone for someone just 19 years old!

  20. Loved the post. I'm not a big Taylor fan, but after watching him and Kristen at the Oscars, I was so thankful that they were there together. His expression as they walked on stage made it seem to me that his main purpose was to make sure Kristen got down the stairs without falling, and for that, I will be eternally grateful. He was a true gentleman, and I was so glad she had him to lean on that night. Thank you, Taylor!

  23. This post, while not for the mainstream, is nothing but truth. I love everything about Kristen Stewart! I love her awkwardness, her fidgeting, her stuttering, her beautiful face, her tiny little body, her long legs, hell even her cankles! ;) I get so sick of the double standards! I hear it from Rob fans ALL the time. Kristen this, Kristen that...ROB is just as fidgety, stuttering, and yes awkward!! He is just better at bullshitting and turns everything into a joke. I love Rob, there is no question about that, I just hate the double standard...

When it comes to Taylor...well, I feel for the kid. I feel like he is being exploited. I wouldn't call him a puppet as some do, but I do think he is overly controlled. The only time I saw anything of Taylor's true nature was on SNL, and I hope we get to see more of that. Cause damn it the poor kid needs a break! He seems like a genuinely great kid, I hope he can break free of the chains...

Anyway, sorry for the novel! I just have too much bottled in! LOL

Thank you @KStew411 for writing this and CC for being so generous to post it here. You two ladies are up there in my book! ♥♥

  24. I enjoy so much this blog!! KStew is fierce and I loved her!! Her dress was exquisite, she looked like a model (not a crack, whorey, nudey kind of model)..and I always admire her maturity, being 19 and have the world following all your steps can be crazy, and you add the haters (which are lusting after RPattz)..She got a grip on reality and, lets be real, she is RPattz Mistress, she totally owns the sparkly peennn..

  29. Well said. I agree about Kristen. She's shown a lot of willingness to approve and please the fans while not changing her personality. Thank you also KStew411 for defending Taylor. I think a lot of people feel like they have to choose either "Edward" or "Jacob" and the amount of hatred Taylor L. gets is irrational, unreasonable, and kind of sick. I see genuine friendship between Taylor and Kristen and I'm sure she wouldn't enjoy reading all the hateful comments people make about him. We should sympathize with him. I wouldn't have enjoyed supporting a family at 18. I love his manners and the way he seems to help Kristen with her nerves during public appearances. Great post!!!

  30. Great insight, as usual, 411. So spot on.

  33. #411 certainly laid it out nicely. i admire kristen stewart, 'cos for whatever she does, "it's all 100% pure unadulterated KStew." it's ironic how all of her haters despise her for the very same grounds that i myself love about her.

as working adults, we're always encouraged to never bring work home and vice versa; and we often hear the line "there's a fine line between professional and personal life." i think that's basically what kristen is trying to do: putting a reasonable divide between 2 aspects of her life to keep her own sanity, maintain every bit of reality in the world of make-believe, and lastly to prevent herself from succumbing to the pitfalls of being in "hollywood" like the rest of that world has.

to be honest, in my 25 almost 26 years of existence, kristen stewart has been the only person that has really made me realize that acting is truly just a job and an expression of art. sure we hear that around often but it was never proven to me till now, seeing kristen struggle to make that distinction and see how the media react to that.

true story: i recently talked to a couple of people (each on different occasions) who have hung out with kristen a few times inadvertently. these two did not know they have the same acquaintances as ms. stewart. prior to their meetings, the two pretty much only knew stewart as "the girl in that horrendous vampire movie who seems to live a miserable life despite her millions." in short, they are not fans, at all. so about a month ago, they were utterly dumbfounded when they saw her at their friend's place "just chillin' around quietly." they could not believe it was the same kristen as the kristen they hate to see on tv. one person said, "seriously you wouldn't have known she's this famous actor if you've never seen a picture of her ever, and guess what she offered me a ciggie!" another person mentioned how she is shy but can keep up a great conversation, "very low-key and has no air about her whatsoever." i found it funny that these people on different occasions that i talked to each, both admitted kstew is one of the sweetest people they've met and they both felt the need to apologize for their ignorance. one said she wanted to personally apologize to kristen but she didn't want to sound stupid haha. another one also realized how much power the media has over all of us and that everything is not what it seems at face value. i was literally happy to hear these people admit they were wrong to judge her but it's also awful to think that they need to be proven wrong first to disqualify what they hear from the media about the person. if that's how the pattern goes, then i suppose there is no way in changing most of these haters' stand on kstew. how sad!

    p.s.
i love this little collaboration you have with #411. i think if you, #411 and that kristenstewartwantsit dude combine your individual epicness, you guys can create a powerful, effective revolution to change the world ;) you guys can definitely take over eonline or that perezshiton or something lol.

  34. p.p.s. shoot! i totally forgot to add to my very, super long comment above that i want you cc to remember your words "all I want to do is FREE BELLA and GET THAT FUCKING CHIP OUT." take that to heart and remember it well and good. i am sure you will do the same exact thing i did to myself, you'll see hahahahahahahahahahaha...all i'm going to say is EP is a never ending battle; you think you know but you have no idea. maybe kharizzmatik should also guest blog. you can ask her if she happens to also think kstewisbetterthanher ;)

  36. I'm the big fan of Kris and I'm saying long time ago that Kris is a real person. She's smart, confident, beautiful but she is raw and has her own flaw. But what I love and admire about her is she is shy but eager to learn and to improve her but never lose her real self. It is a big big deal for a 19 year old teenager but very talented. We see she improves in her interview, she stands up straight at the Oscars night. Her shyness is still there but it is so her and so cute.

You know what I really learn about her. When she got her high school diploma, I realize this girl do have a great determination and hard-work ethic. When I read her private one-on-one interview and I realize how deep thinking she is. I also see how reading influences on her. She is very articulate and dept. She encourages me to read. Love you, Kris

  38. I finally stop LMAO from your post yesterday enough to have a coherent thought to post and I come to find THIS!! Holy Sh*t!!

First Kristen takes my breath away on Sun. Mon. you make me laugh so hard I can’t breathe, and now I am left, once again, breathless from the honesty that is the 411…between the three of you there really isn’t anything left to say…SOOO a virtual standing O to you all!

On a side note…I usually say that I would rather work/hang with a bunch of men vs. women any day of the week and twice on Sun. because I can’t STAND the cattiness that is the hen house. However, I think I could hang with ANY of you chicks ANY day!

To the new Tritrinity…CC, 411, and the Stew:)LOL

Shakes head...LautLean...where do you come up with this??

  39. It was unexpected but great to read 411's article here, CC. It's great that the two of you found the way to collaborate.

And here comes the stupid question: what is EP?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I assume this was banned for having the audacity to question the perfectness that is Taylor Lautner. He's a total Stepford. This kid saw the creepy line in the sand and ran right past it. Thanks to #411 for the honest and spot on reaction. Like I said, banned books are always the best!

  41. I have been a fan of Kstew411 for the longest time. She is my go-to person for all things immediate. I am glad she found a safe place to blog her thoughts. Thanks to CC for providing that place and thanks to KStew411 for her smart editorial.

Maybe you can overlap again - this really worked for me.

  42. Kris is Kris. And I love her to death!☺

    ReplyDelete
  43. I didnt really read the article just the first part about Kristen and all I gotto say is that I love her and admire her so much, so other people have to stop hating on her and critizizing her She is Awesome, she is real, she is herself when she speaks infront of a camera and thats why people love her..so haters get over it!

    ReplyDelete
  44. To Trisha, I agree about he Double Standards. But it's not just the Rob fans. There have been plenty of double standards thrown out there by the Kristen fans as well. It's a 2 way street.

Other then that, I agree with the article. I still can't stand Taylor though. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  45. What friends does Kristen have? I see her out with Pattinson and HIS friends. I see her out with Twilight cast members. Sometimes she's with one of her brothers.

After the filming of Twilight, and before the filming of New Moon, she hung with Nikki Reed, or she was with Nikki (acting as the buffer) and her ex Michael A.

Then, during New Moon filming, she was with Pattinson more and more and then Nikki faded away (not needed any more?).

I honestly don't see her hanging with anyone who could be described as HER friend. Someone from "before she became famous", or anyone for that matter.

She's out with Pattinson and HIS friends. And while that's better than Taylor, who does seem to be only with adults, it's not quite normal either.

She seems to be someone who went directly from the guy she dated since she was about 15 to the next guy, and when she's out, she in his world, with his friends and his family.

I know the claws will come out in response to this, but I honestly have no idea if she has any friends other than co-workers (depending on what film she's doing) or friends of the boyfriend.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Taylor Lautner has friends..and lovers too. The homosexual variety. His parents and family know- thats why everyone is so protective of his image. They dont want his sexual preference to be known publicly and neither does he. He's playing it straight for his tweenie fans. Good for him, I say. Rob those little bitches blind and then come out later. No harm no foul. Thats showbiz.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I find it wierd that ever since becoming a fan of Kristen and understanding her more, i won't accept anyone in hollywood thats not like her. I saw the cookie cutters and I accepted them for who they were...but now, I can't stand the mofos! I truly think Kristen is paving the way for a new generation that doesn't conform to the ideology of Hollywood and who purely just want to act.
I love that girl's attitude and her life moto (whatever it is) but nobody has slayed Hollywood like Kristen. I just hope people will one day see what we all see. I slowly think its happening btw ;)

Awesome Kstew411 and thanks CC for posting this.

P.s sorry if this doesn't make sense, i can't be bothered proof reading. MWAH.

  48. Nice article KStew411 :) And thanks CC for letting this be posted here.
Btw you two are great, I like the way you two think :)

    I'm gonna make 2 quotes:
    1) "Here’s the thing about KStew. You know her."
    2) "There’s a willingness to improve the public persona as much as there is an unwillingness to sacrifice her real self so we’ll all like her better"
I quoted those because I loved it, they were very well writen and all these things about Kristen and her acting (of course) are the reasons why I love her.

Talking about Taylor, well, he doesn't seem to be a bad person, I agree with KStew411 that there is a gentlemanly quality to him and that he has good manners. But I also agree that he is a machine, a money-maker, and I would be lying if I said that he doesn't annoy the hell out of me... with him everything is too rehearsed, too artificial, and I hate this. Well, he's still a kid and I wish he could change this.
Another thing that I think about Taylor is that he's too overrated, he has very very few movies under his belt and some people already think his the new Tom Cruise or whatever, oh come on. (Don't get me wrong, it's not that he can't be as successful as Tom Cruise in the future, it's just that he still has a long way to go).

Anyway, that's just what I think, nobody has to agree with me.

  49. KStew411 is my hero, and so are you.
